CHRISTCHURCH TROTTING NOTES.

The Christchurch trainer E. Carlyon, who has loked after Mr. W. E Simes’ horses for some time, has taken service with Mr. J. Porter, at Oamaru. There he will have charge of El Carbine and a number of promising young horses.

The American stallion Copa D’Oro was taken back to Dunedin recently, and will be turned out at his owner’s place there.

Mr. W. E. Simes has leased from Messrs. Barlow Bros, the two Ameri-can-bred mares Queen Patch and Madam Shaw. In future the pair will be trained and raced by Mr. Simes.

Adonis has been put into work again after doing a light season at the stud. There is a probability of the Harold Dillon horse being acquired by an Australian owner.

The New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club holds its summer meeting on Saturday next. Large fields are likely to be seen out in most of the events, and the class of competitors is well above the average.

Tamarisk is now an inmate of F. Holmes’ stable, and will remain there till his mentor, R. Reay, is enabled to get about again.
