THAMES JOCKEY CLUB.

SUMMER MEETING. CONCLUDING DAY. The Thames; Jockey Club brought their summer meeting to a successful conclusion on Wednesday (December 27), when another large attendance was in evidence. Rain fell during the afternoon, making the track slippery, while the times registered were somewhat on the slow side. The totalisator handled £8853, as against £10,143 10s. last year, making a total for the meeting of £19,312 10s., compared with £19,671 for the 1915 meeting. The racing was again of an interesting character, the steeplechase in particular proving a sterling race, being greatly appreciated by the club’s patrons.- After an exciting finish Pip won by a narrow margin from Bonnie Jean, with Ranza Mist third. The McGowan Memorial Stakes resulted in a win for Marble Star, who defeated Achilledes. The results were:— THAMES HURDLES of 85sovs. One mile and a-half. J. M.
