Mr. Jugiro Nishimura, representing the large Japanese shipping firm Mitsui Bussan Kaisha, accompanied by his wife, is spending a holiday in the Dominion before returning to Japan. Mr. .Nishimura has been resident in Sydney for the past four years.

Mr. C. H. Drew, late of New Plymouth, has secured his flying certificate at Home, and been given a commission in the Royal Flying Corps. He expects to go to France with his corps in February or March.

Mr. and Mrs. C. C. McMillan returned to Auckland by the Makura last week after a three and a-half years’ absence, during which they visited England, France, and America. While in Auckland they are staying at the Grand Hotel.
