WESTLAND RACING CLUB.
A sure sign that the Westland Racing Club’s Jub lee Meeting at Hokitka is fast approaching is the tact that nom nations for the two days’ (Jan 8 and 9) fixture close on Friday, December 15. The club has made special preparations for the meeting, both by a substant al increase in the stakes and radical improvements in the racecourse appointments. The meeting bids fa’r to be a successful one, as the enterprise of the club in the two directions mentoned is sure to lead to greatly extended patronage. The meeting should likewise witness a happy reunion of many old West Coasters to talk over “the brave days of old.’’
