More than two thousand jaded tribunals in England are still struggling with a mass of appeals against military service. Mr. W. M'Master, of Burns, Philp and Co., Sydney, managing agents for Australasia of the Nippon Yusen Kaisha (Japan Mail Steamship Company), is visiting New Zealand with the object of ascertaining if the prospects are sufficient to warrant the Nippon Yusen Kaisha opening a steamship service from Japan to New Zealand. The Nippon Yusen Kaisha is the largest steamship company in Japan. It has a fleet of about 100 large steamers, and a number of additional vessels are now being built in Japan. The company maintains a regular service between Japan and England, America, Australia and India, in addition to dealing with local coastal requirements. ;
