BRITAIN’S INEXHAUSTIBLE SUPPLY OF RESERVES.—LONDON SCOTTISH MARCHING TO THE TRENCHES TO' ASSIST THE BRITISH IN THE GREAT OFFENSIVE ON THE SOMME. Every day the Allied Army grows in magnitude, and various calculations have been made regarding the huge number of British troops that have been sent to France. A feature of the British and French advance is that it is being made with a minimum loss of life, for though both nations possess enormous reserves they have purposely refrained from the grave error of pressing more than the required number of men into action, a course which has enabled the authorities to relieve the men in the fighting line at regular intervals. When the time is ripe no doubt the full weight of the Allies’ enormous reserves will be hurled against the Huns, when sudden and decisive results can confidently be looked for.
