Napier Park Winter Meeting—lndigo Enjoying a Spell—lnteresting Work at Napier Park. (From Our Napier Correspondent.) NAPIER, Monday. The acceptances received by the executive of the Napier Park Racing Club for their winter fixture this week augur favourably foi' a successful reunion, for class and quantity are apparent in those listed. The tracks are real good for this time of the year, and though the fences are solid there is nothing tricky about tl eir location or erection.

Indigo is still taking the rest cure, but R. Gooseman intends in about three weeks’ time to have him again a member of the toilers’ clan.

Mr. W. Murray, of Wanstead, has sent St. Omer and Conziska to Greenmeadows to have the polishing act put on them, and the couple are now amongst the regulars spinning round the circles at Napier Park.

Haumakaka has jo'ned the team presided over by J. Sceats at Greenmeadows. Since his arrival at his new quarters the son of Achilles and Punewai has improved a heap. Mummer has been an absentee for several mornings past from the hurryup at Hastings. One of his stable associates in Multicipal was also missing for a time, but is now back again. The youngsters hailing from Messrs. G. P. Donnelly and T. H. Lowry’s establishments are being kept on the move on the round-about at Napier Park.

Gold Foil, who was mated with Demosthenes last term, is back on the tracks again at Napier Park, so presumably her visit to the son of Desmond has not been productive of the results that were aimed at.

There was some fairly interesting work got through at Napier Park on Thursday morning. Conziska struck out well over a six-furlong sprint, and afterwards cleared a couple of hurdles in a speedy, capable fashion. St. Omer and Whakahoki were associated in a dash over six furlongs. There was nothing to pick and choose between them at the end of the argument.

Birkful, looking bright and hearty, strode over a mile and a-quarter in good style. He was assisted over the 'final three-quarters of a mile by Helsingfors, the pair breaking even at the conclusion of the test.

A couple ol circuits of the country were compassed by Sleacombe, who never laid a toe on the obstacles. Later on the big Birkenhead gelding should be amongst the winners.

Merrie Lad had the easiest of tasks to hold Fond Memory in a working galiop run over a. mile and a-quarter. The former appears to be in great heart.

Mr. F. A. Price, the senior member of the Rorke’s Drift partnership, states that there is no intention at present to school the Calibre gelding over hurdles.
