ROUND THE PICTURE SHOWS.

THE GRAFTON THEATRE. ALLEN DOONE IN “THE REBEL.” Lovers of Allen Doone will no doubt be glad of the opportunity of seeing their favourite in the movies. Such a chance will be afforded them at the Grafton Theatre on Monday, when the stirring Irish drama “The Rebel” will be presented in picture form, with Mr. Doone and Miss Edna Keeley in the leading parts. The plot is laid in Ireland 100 years ago, and deals with the vicissitudes of an outlaw. It is full of tragic situations, in which a gaol, a vault, and soldiers are concerned, while an appealing love note adds the

necessary touch for an ideal screening. Special attention has been paid to mounting, and no detail will be lost in the pictorial telling. Mr. Doone intends to do all his Irish romantic dramas in film form. “When I first landed in Australia,” he said recently, “I had 125 dollars. With that capital I have got where I am to-day, despite all the difficulties with which I was for years beset. So I do not think it too much to say that I feel confident of successfully carrying through my picture project.”
