MR. J. B. REID’S ELDERSLIE LOT.

On Thursday morning, November 11, at 10 a.m. at the Chester Street Stables, Messrs. Pyne and Co. will sell 11 yearlings on account of Mr. J. B. Reid, of Elderslie. Six of the number are by Kilbroney, imported, four fillies and two colts. The other five are by Cakewalk, four colts and one filly from mares bred in Australia and got by Ruenalf, son of the crack Grand Flaneur. The dams of the Kilbroneys are well known to students of pedigree and four of them have produced good winners. Kilwinning and Honesty are from Success, who is represented by a filly. Polymorphus and Prince Laddo are from Rumour, also represented by a filly, and Cyre, who has a colt, is the dam of Former and Down. MR. J. F. BUCHANAN’S KINLOCH LOT.

Some good ones have come from the Kinloch Stud, the headquarters of Martian, who is now the leading sire of New Zealand. Of the seven lots Mr. Buchanan is sending up six are by this horse, three being colts from Everlasting (dam of Immer), Forked Lightning, imported daughter of Eager, and Gipsy Girl, by Gipsj’ Grand. The fillies are from Lovelorn (dam of Nones), Neva (dam of Danube), and Hebrew Maid (dam of Lovelorn and Thrax), or own sisters to Nones, Danube and Thrax. In addition to these there is a filly by Treadmill, who will be remembered as a good colt and has proved himself a sire of winners. MR. lAN DUNCAN’S WAIKANAE LOT.

From this North Island stud there are nine yearlings in* the catalogue, and five sires are represented. Imported Bezonian claims three fillies from the Birkenhead mare Dire (a good performer), Tortulla, dam of Diabolo and Banksia, and Lady Principal, dam of First Consul and Achray. Imported Rokeby has a colt and filly from Faux Pas, sister to Vladimir, by Stepniak, and Crimson Rose respectively, the latter being by Royal Fusilier from the Stepniak mare Rose Madder, dam of Sea Pink. Imported Birkenhead has a colt from Strathspey, dam of Teviotdale and other winners. Achilles is represented by a colt from Madeira, by Maltster; Boniform a colt from Sea Queen, a half sister to Seadown, and a good performer and a filly by imported Demosthenes from Mistime, sister to Miscount, completes the nine lots.

MR. J. F. REID’S BURNSIDE LOT. Of the half dozen that Mr. J. F. Reid is disposing of, five are by imported Rokeby and one by Kilbroney, imported. To the last-named that brilliant mare Armilia, dam of the equally brilliant Armlet, has a filly. Rokeby’s filly representatives are from Miss Dalrymple, by Pilgrim’s Progress, Elaine, by Birkenhead, and Tea Cup, dam of that good horse Di Gama, and the colt are from Rose Red, full sister to All Red, Munjeet,

Mungista, Rose Madder and Rubia, and from lima, sister to Neva and dam of Obsono and others. A very select little contribution in numbei’ and class. THE REDCASTLE STUD. The lots from this stud, which are to be sold on account of the trustees of the late Mr. John Buckley, of Oamaru, on the same date and place as the other lots already referred to, number 14, of which seven are two-year-olds, All Red be.ng the sire of six of the number and Kilbroney of one, the respective dams being mares of excellent blood credentials, performances and provedqualities as winner producers, and it can be taken for granted that they have all been well done. The same remark applies to the yearlings from Edna May, Aerina, Whirlpool, Northern Rose, Mint Queen, Roseshield and Soberside, the last four being represented by fillies, while the first three have colts to speak for them. MESSRS. WANKYLN AND CO., FILLIES. _ Two imported fillies, foaled in 1914, complete the catalogue. One is by Earl Mor, son of Desmond, from Fotharta, by Blairfinder, winner of the Irish Derby and half brother to Galtee More and Ard Patrick, and the other by Henry the First from Minnie Orme, by Munstead from Lady Orme. They are respectively members of the number three and four families, and will no doubt attract the attention of breeders, and as engagements have been made for them they are evidently expected to play a part on the New Zealand turf.
