He ran second in 53rd Triennial Ascot for two-year-olds, beating Lally, Bridge of Canny, Troutbeck, and Gorgos. and was third to Plymelus in Princess of Wales Stakes, of £5OOO. He was placed in numerous good races, beating good horses, such as Picton, Royal Dream and Succory. COUNT SCHOMBERG, his sire, ran third in Cesarewitch, also Cambridgeshire, and second in Manchester Handicap. won Auteuil Hurdle Race, Ellesmere Stakes, Goodwood Cup, twice Liverpool Autumn Cup, Queen’s Plate, Derby, Chester Cup, Gold Vase, Ascot, Hurdle Race, Manchester, fourth Grand National Steeplechase, Paris, and won New Century Steeplechase.
