SOUTH AUCKLAND RACING CLUB.
The annual meeting of the South Auckland Racing Club was held on Thursday, and there was a larger attendance of members than usual, consequent upon the action of the committee in purchasing a new course several miles from Hamilton and the course used at Claudelands in the past. Some of the members were adverse to the step taken, and there was a good deal of discussion when the balance-sheet and report were read but a motion for its adoption was carried by a large majority. In accordance with a notice of mo ion given by Mr. G. Washer, the name of the club was altered to the Hamilton Racing Club. Fourteen nominations for the six vacancies on the committee were received, and the following, all of whom, except Mr. Storey, are new members, were elected: — Messrs. K. S. Brookfield, H. T. Gillies, A. J. Storey, A. E. Manning, A. Miller, and J. C. Potts.
