CANTERBURY JOCKEY CLUB. GRAND NATIONAL MEETING FIRST DAY. NGATOA WINS STEEPLECHASE. The C.J.C. Grand National meeting' was opened on Tuesday in perfect weather in the presence of a large crowd. Totalisator business was brisk, the sum of £43,386 being handled, as against £38,517 10s, for the opening day of last year.
