Principal Characters in the Comedy Drama, “Seven Little Australians,” now being staged at His Majesty’s Theatre, Auckland.

Buenos Ayres is a huge and wonderful city, states a recent New Zealand visitor. He says: “The Eolo. a paddle steamer of about 3000 tons, and in accommodation about equal to the Maori, took us to Buenos Ayres. The run is done at night, and is about 120 miles from Monte Video across the Rio de la Plata. I spent four days there, and although I did not waste much time, yet I saw only a very small portion of it. It is a city that would take months probably to explore. In the Avenida de Mayo, the chief street of the city, all traffic is stopped at 4 o’clock in the afternoon, and then the

women simply swarm there all decked out in their fanciest frocks, and they do look smart in their imported Paris dresses. It is one of the sights cf the city to walk along that street after the traffic has stopped. The buildings in Buenos Ayres are simply magnificent. Imagine building after building for miles in every direction, everyone as gorgeous and two-thirds of them two, three and four times as gorgeous in design and architecture as the Public Trust Office in Wellington. It is a wonderful city. Every day they are pulling down almost new and really beautiful buildings to make room on the sites for better ones. It is all stone, as in Monte Video.
