ROWING.
(From Our Wanganui Coi respondent.) It is pleasing to know that there is at last good reason to believe that a match between W. Webb and F. Hannan for the professional sculling championship of New Zealand and £2OO will be definitely arranged within a few days. Hannan’s backers sent along a £lOO deposit to bind such a match the other day, and it was at once covered by Mr. W. R. Tuck, on Webb’s behalf. All that remains now is for the date to be satisfactorily arranged, and the chances are that this will be done. It is more than likely that the race will be rowed on September 21, the day between the two days’ racing at the Wanganui spring meeting.
