SPORTSMEN AND THE BATTLEFIELD.
In a cable from Brisbane last week Mr. G. F. Pearce, Minister for Defence, speaking at a sportsmen’s recruiting meeting, said the Empire had given the call to sportsmen. It was their turn to go. Would they skulk or go to the field of battle and play the game? As long as the men of Australia were willing to go to the front the Government would be willing to send them.
