WINTER MEETING. EXOTIC WINS STEEPLECHASE. The weather was fine for the openins? of the Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club’s winter meeting- on Wednesday, and a record attendance was in evidence. Betting- was of a spirited character, no less than £14,165 being- invested on the totalisator. as against £12,987 for the corresponding day of last year.
