FOOTBALL
(From our Dunedin correspondent)
The annual meeting of the Otago Rugby Union will be held on Saturday next. The report is not altogether of a congratulatory nature, excepticn being taken to the poor standard of play last season. Nothing of any outstanding importance is likely to arise out of the meeting. Notice of motion has been given to permit of playing members sitting on the committee. This is not likely to meet with much support, and I expect it to be thrown out. Complaint is made that the Union is not sufficiently in touch with the players. The three selector system is likely to be given another trial this season, though extremely unsatisfactory last year. The Taieri Rovers Club, which disbanded last season, has been re-or-ganised this year, and promises to turn out several good players.
