GLOBE THEATRE.
Anticipatory of the visit of H.M.S. New Zealand, the pictures of the battleship have been the centre of attraction at the Globe Theatre since Monday. Some excellent views of her arrival in Wellington having been secured. Detective stories never lose their allurement; and the exciting incidents in “Flesh and Blood” supply all the thrills that that type of drama demands, while as a photographic study, it was also particularly good. A fascinating love tale was disclosed in “The Awakening of Bianca,” the old, old story being told through the happiest medium. Ostrich farming in England was illustrated in a series of admirable views, which were much admired, while the laughter provoked by the comic subjects showed they were highly appreciated. A new series will be screened today, with special features.
It is stated that Herr Eyon Petre, one of the world’s most famous pianists, is contemplating a tour of Australia and New Zealand in the near future.
