TRAINING NOTES.

On Saturday morning most of the work was done on the sand track on account of the wet weather. Goidsize Was the first to start • operations by. running seven furlongs, alone in, lmin 32sec. The two mares, Wee Olga and Sea Elf, finished together from the six furlong post, in lmin 19 2-ssec. Admiral Soult, Worcester and another rattled off the same distance : 1-5: of a second faster in the ordei’ named.

After the breakfast interval, Solitudo hopped off at the five furlong post, finishing in, lmin 6 4-ssec. Goodwin Sands, tired to nothing at the end of six furlongs, in, lmin 2 3 l-ssec.

The Reckoner (a hunter) and The Romp galloped 18 furlongs at a good pace. First Barrel galloped a circle and was brought home by Royal Irish. The latter is very fit. Pairawaatu took 55sec. to run half a mile. Harenoa beat Lord Delaval in .a four furlong dash. Dunborve and Tui Cakobau galloped a couple of rounds on the tan, running Smin 51 3-ssec, from the seven furlong mark. Tui Cakobau wore his mate down. Rebel led Kopane over six of the small hurdles. Kopane looks like being useful at the game.

The NIZ. Cup Trotting Handicap this year will carry a stake of £lOOO and will be for horses that can do 4.40 or better for two miles.
