ROUND ABOUT ELLERSLIE.

SATURDAY. On Saturday morning all the tracks were open, and the work of importance was done on the grass, unless otherwise mentioned. Maxwell galloped six furlongs on the sand in Imin 20 2-ssec. Maheno and Wee Olga were stretched out separately, in the inner grass. Goldsize and La Reina jumped off at the mile post, and the former led all the way on the inside, registering lmin'42 3-ssec; the mare running the distance in lmin 43sec. St. Amans, alone, on the sand, galloped a circuit in 2min 7 3-ssec. Antoinette waited on Worcester at the end of six furlongs in lmin 18sec. Soultoria, alone, swung round the inner grass in lmin 47 3-5 sec. Sea Elf, over the same distance and track, ran lmin 45 3'-ssec. Ashby got a break on Miss Avan lahche, running five, furlongs in lmin 6 3-ssec; the latter was easing up. Maui Nina and Prince Merriwee had a five furlong spin in lmin 7sec.

Collier Lad, alone, on the sand, got to the end of six furlongs in lmin 21 3-ssec.

Muskewai ran away from Indulgence from the five furlong post in lmin 3 3-ssec —the latter took lmin 5 l-ssec. Royal Irish, with Battle Abbey to assist over the last five furlongs, left six furlongs behind in lmin 19sec. First Wairiki, after cantering round the sand, broke away from the six furling mark, and was brought home by his stable mate Wairua, m lmin 19sec. Solitudo spurted four furlongs in 50sec. iMonoline fluttered over the same distance on the inner grass in 51 3-ssec. Laverna sprinted half a mile in 51sec. Lucille did a similar task in 52 2-ssec. Master Wairiki dashed over six furlongs in lmin 20 2-ssec. The sisters, Kakama and Miss Winsome, were out for time making, running seven furlongs in lmin 29 l-ssec, The former was going the easier. Centenary held Lonely on a four furlong sprint, in 52 3-ssec. Spalsh and The Celt galloped a moderate six furlongs in lmin 23 l-ssec. Tobias and a roan mate dashed off the half mile mark, in 50sec in this order. Rutter had Lannacost well gone at the finish of half a mile spin, in 50 l-ssec. ■ Bogey, alone, rattled off five furlongs in lmin 5 2-ssec. 7 . Devastation improved this by beating Prince-King in lmin 4 2-ssec. Tangewai, at top, finished three furlongs in 38sec.

Presently put in a solid round on the sand in 2min lOsec.

Pukewera beat Fuss, spurting half a mile on the sand in 52 2-ssec.

Sea Pink was ahead of Pyralis in a strong run' seven furlongs in lmin 30 4-ssec.

Geneva and Admiral Soult each sprinted half a mile separately in moderate time.

Crispineer (Derrey) beat Don Quex (McFlynn) by 100 yards in’ a round over the hurdles, but the latter is a bad track horse.

Bremen (Morrow) covered a careful round over the battens.

Hautere (Pinker), Webfoot (Deery) and Dunborve (McFlynn) jumped the sod wall, but the double found a weak spot in the latter, who parted with his pilot. The othei’ pair went round the hill without any mistakes, Dunborve joined in and negotiated the double. Loch Fyne also took a hand from the six furlongs, jumping carefully and well; Dinkum (Chaafe), Tui Cakobau (Rae), and Bully (Speakman), ran round the steeplechase country in this order, in 2min 56sec. Bully shaped poorly. Captain Paul, Advocate, King Soult, Allworthy, Bleriot, Waimangu,; Master Theory, Jack Delaval, Prophet,

Harenoa, Bon Jour, Surplus, Watchchain, Ruatangata, Cloudy Dawn, Master Jack, Tact, Pekerangi, and others did useful tasks. W. Gall has taken up Goodwin Sands again. The filly has put on condition. Watchchain is back in his old quarters again with George Absolum. TUESDAY. All the tracks were again available but most of the work was of the sprinting order. Goldsize and La Reina were again track mates, running 1% miles on the tan. The pair kept together, leaving the distance behind in 2min 15 3-5 sec. St. Amans, who is rather backward, battled out a circuit on the sand alone in 2min 9sec. Maui Nina, Antoinette, and Worcester finished a mile in this order, in lmin 46 3-ssec. on the grass track. Soultoria and Wee Olga put in good work, not looking for time. Manuwera ran seven furlongs at top on the grass. Captain Soult and Harenoa scampered over a few furlongs; the last three in 41sec. Muskewai and Admiral Soult sprinted four furlongs on the tan in 54 4-5 sec. Jack Delaval, alone, ran five furlongs on the tan in lmin llsec. Sea Elf and Maxwell were together at the end of seven furlongs, on the sand, in lmin 31sec. Tact carried too many guns for Prince Soult from the. five furlong mark, on the grass, in lmin 5 2-ssec.

Master Theory put in an attractive round on the tad, in lmin 55' l-ssec.

(Prince Merriwee, Allworthy, and Geneva finished as above, in a half mile scramble on the. grass, in 49 3-ssec.

Miss Avalanche scampered over four furlongs on the grass, in 50 2-5 sec.

Royal Irish ran over the top of Almeida, in a threequarters of a mile bout, on the grass, in lmin 18sec. Penfold put in a couple of rounds, the 'first in 2min 11 4-ssec, on the sand.

First Wairiki cantered round and then broke away at the seven furlong post, on the sand, cutting out the distance in lmin 30 3-ssec.

Crispineer strode over a circle., on the grass, in 2min. Rutter ran away from- a mate, from the four furlong mark on the grass, in 50 l-ssec. Master Soult encompassed a circuit brushing home.

Bon Jour and Bully galloped the last five of six furlongs, on the grass, in lmin 6 2-ssec; a good finish. Miss Winsome and Kakama both did good work separately, on the tan. The sisters look well.

Solitudo had a four furlong spin, on the tan, in 56sec.

Monoline and Laverna both spurted a few furlongs, not making time. Pukewera had Don Quex well beaten over 6 furlongs, on the grass. Bow Bells dashed over half a mile, on the grass, in 49 4-ssec. Sir Artegal, on the tan, ran the last four of five furlongs in 53 3-ssec. Lannacost, Hazelton and Native Rose ran home as above in 50 4-ssec, on the grass.

Maheno rattled off six furlongs, on the tan, in lmin 22sec.

Manurere and Peggy Pryde skipped over four furlongs in 50sec; the latter seems none, the worse for her fall at Paeroa.

Tobias had a slight advantage over Fuss at the end of five furlongs, on the grass, in lmin ssec. Prince King had a head victory over Devastation in a fast run half mile, on the grass, in 49 4-ssec. Monorail and Tangewai took 4-5 of. a second longer to get over the same distance.

Bogey had Cloudy Dawn and a. mate well settled at the end of half a mile, on the grass, in 49 4-ssec. Spalfish and The Celt slipped over four furlongs in 51sec, on the grass; the former easily led. Sea Pink and Pyralis battled out seven, furlongs on the grass, in lmin 30 4-ssec; the former came away at the finish.

Collier Lad, alone, ran seven furlongs, on the grass, in lmin 31 3-ssec._ The son of Ranguru is coming on fast. Zinnia jumped a few of the small, hurdles shaping well for a novice. Lloyds negotiated seven furlongs, on the sand, in lmin 35sec. The following also did useful tasks: Captain Paul, Sir Gladstone, Ben.
