TURF RESULTS.

A SUCCESSFUL CARNIVAL. The Auckland Trotting Club concluded their three-aay summer carnival on Saturday under the most favourable conditions. The weather was beautiful, the attendance good, the course in splendid condition, the track excellent, the sport interesting, and the management most satisfactory. It is particularly pleasing to record the success that has attended the enterprise of A.T.C., because the club have been particularly courageous in the progressive policy they inaugurated with the purchase of their fine property at Alexandra Park. Not only has the sport of trotting received a very marked impetus 'by the club’s enterprise, but it has during the recent meeting made many new friends, who were favourably impressed with 'light harness racing. During Saturday afternoon the totaJlisators handled the sum of £10,243 compared with £5363 on the corresponding day last year. This handsome sum together with the investments on the two previous days brought the total return up to £32,894 10s, an increase of £13,603, the figure for last season’s summer meeting.
