TURF RESULTS.

DUNEDIN J.C. SPRING MEETING.

The Dunedin Jockey Club’s spring meeting was commenced on Wednesday in beautifully fine weather. The attendance was good. The totalisator investments amounted to £8758 10s, which is £1350 in excess of the investments last year. Results: — SPRING HANDICAP of lOOsovs, one mile and a-half.—Redmond, 9.9 (L. Hegraty), 1; Gold Pin, 9.2, 2; Ito, 9.7, 3. Also started: Ringman 10.0, Freak 9.13, Simon Pure 9.0. Redmond won by a head, with Ito seven lengths away. Time, 2 min 24 3-ssec.

TRIAL PLATE of lOOsovs, six furlongs.—Somersault, 8.2 (F. E. Jones), 1; Troon, 8.0, 2; Red, White and Blue, 8.0, 3. Also started: Optimeform 8.5, Mahuri 8.5, ■Nikon 8.2, Obi 8.2, Baron Lowburn 8.2, iMuircock’ 8.2, Summertime 8.0, Quota 8.0, Good Time 8.0, Speybank 7.13, Pleasure Bent 7.11. Won comfortably by a couple of lengths. Time, Imin 18 l-ssec. MOSGIEL HANDICAP of 200sovs, one mile and a-quarter.—Countermine, 7.9 (F. E. Jones), 1; Outlander 6.13, 2; C’oroni form, 8.8, 3. Also started: The Cornet 8.3, Puaka 7.2. Outlander put in a good run in the straight, and finished second one length and a-quartier away from Countermine. Time, 2min 10 4-ssec. DUNEDIN STAKES of 250sovs, four furlongs. (For two-year-olds).—Autumn-us, by Treadmill —Gold Leaf, 8.0 (F. E. Jones). 1; May Dalrymple, 7.9, 2; Pawky Lass, 7.9, 3. Also started: Sister Radius 7.9, St. Rofoera 7.9. Won easily by close on two lengths. Time, 50sec. ELECTRIC HANDICAP of 130sovs, six furlongs.—Thistledown, 7.12 (A. H. Wilson), 1; Adjudge, 7.11, 2; Stepmeter, 8.8, 3. Also started: Colleen Mary 7.13, Clanmena 7.6. In the run home, Thistledown won by three lengths from Adjudge, who beat Stepmeter by a similar distance. Time, Imin 15 3-ssec. TAIOMA HANDICAP of lOOsovs, six furlongs.—John Bunyan, 8.11 (T. Humphries), 1; Contendent, 9.11, 2; Larkspur, 8.0, 3. Also started: Nithsdale 9.0, Takeho 8.12, Daringdale 8.9, Miss De Vere 8.8, Mosgiel 7.11. Won by a short head. Time, Imin 17sec.

OCTOBER WELTER HANDICAP of 125sovs, one mile. —Tangeroa, 8.0 (R. King), 1; Medallist, 9.9, 2; Armstrong, 8.12, 3. Also started: North Pole 9.4, Fir Bell 8.13, Officious 8.9, King Try 8.9, Field Gun 8.2, Pinul 8.0. Won by a short neck, with Armstrong two lengths away. Time, Imin 44 l-ssec. SECOND DAY. For the second day of the meeting the weather was very cold and changeable, but there was not a great deal of rain, and the track was in excellent order. The total amount put through the totaiisator for the meeting was £19,535 10s, an increase of £4758 on last year’s figures. Results: — WAIKARI HURDLE HANDICAP,. one mile and a-half.—Gold Pin, 9.11 (L. H. Coleman), 1; Ito, 9;9, 2; Redmond, 10.9, 3. Also started: Stayboy 11.9, Optimeform 9.0. Won by half a head. Time, 2min 59 l-ssec.

BURNSIDE HANDICAP, six furlongs. —Red, White and Blue, 8.0 (Humphries), 1; Pure Gold, 8.10, 2; Somersault. 9.7, 3. Also started: Directoire 8.9. Otakeho 8.10. Troon 8.5, Mahuri 8.0, Baron Lowburn 8.0. Won by a length and a-quarter. Time, Imin 18 l-ssec.

RANFURLY HANDICAP, one mile.— The Cornet, 8.2 (F. Jones), 1; Coroniform, 8.7, 2; Outlander, 7.3, 3. Also started: 'Czar Kolohol 8.0, Tangeroa 7.3, Adjudge 7.1, Firebell 6.10, Puaka 6.9. The Cornet slipped up on the inside # and took a strong lead along the straight, and got home by half a head. Outlander was a poor third. Time, Imin 44 3-ssec. DOMINION HANDICAP, four furlongs. (For two-year-olds).—Pawky Lass, 7.9 (J. Olsen), 1; Anna Coroona, 7.4, 2; Carpet Knight, 8.0, 3. Won by a head. ‘Time, 50sec.

SHORTS HANDICAP, six furlongs.— Stepmeter, 8.9 (J. Pine), 1; Avarice,7.lo, 2; Lupulite, 8.0, 3. Also started: -Thistledown 8.1, Colleen Mary 8.0, Clanmena 7.4. Won comfortably by over four lengths. five furlong. Oblong 3.13, NltUsdale ’S.S, Mlns De Vere 8.7, Seagar 8.6, Larkspur 8.4,. Daringdale 8.1 Conquestina 7.9, Muircock 7.9, Mahun 7.9’, Summer time 7.9. Won toy half a lens-th. Time, Imin ssec. telegraph welter handicap, seven furlongs.—'North Pole, 9.0 (S. Reid), 1; Countermine, 10.3, 2; king 7-13> ?’ Also started: Czar Kolobol 10.2, Medallist 9.9. Adjudge 8.13, Tawhaki 8.13, Armstrong 8.9, John Bunyan 8.9, Firebell 8.8, Officious 8.4, Cuirosettit 7.10, Cashier 7.7. In a good finish North Pole won by a head, King Try being three lengths away third. Time, Imin 29 -ssec.
