DUNEDIN J.C. SPRING MEETING.

The Dunedin Jockey Club’s spring meeting was commenced on Wednesday in beautifully fine weather. The attendance was good. The totalisator investments amounted to £8758 10s, which is £1350 in excess of the investments last year. Results: — SPRING HANDICAP of lOOsovs, one mile and a-half.—Redmond, 9.9 (L. Hegraty), 1; Gold Pin, 9.2, 2; Ito, 9.7, 3. Also started: Ringman 10.0, Freak 9.13, Simon Pure 9.0. Redmond won by a head, with Ito seven lengths away. Time, 2 min 24 3-ssec.

DUNEDIN STAKES of 250sovs, four furlongs. (For two-year-olds).—Autumn-us, by Treadmill —Gold Leaf, 8.0 (F. E. Jones). 1; May Dalrymple, 7.9, 2; Pawky Lass, 7.9, 3. Also started: Sister Radius 7.9, St. Rofoera 7.9. Won easily by close on two lengths. Time, 50sec. ELECTRIC HANDICAP of 130sovs, six furlongs.—Thistledown, 7.12 (A. H. In the run home, Thistledown won by three lengths from Adjudge, who beat Stepmeter by a similar distance. Time, Imin 15 3-ssec. TAIOMA HANDICAP of lOOsovs, six furlongs.—John Bunyan, 8.11 (T. OCTOBER WELTER HANDICAP of 125sovs, one mile. —Tangeroa, 8.0 (R. King), 1; Medallist, 9.9, 2; Armstrong, 8.12, 3.
