A LUCKY VICTORY.
The match between the University third grade team and a combined Maori team from the Three King’s and St. Stephen’s Colleges resulted in a lucky victory for the former team by 5 points to 3. The Maoris who scored a try early in the game had all the best of the match, the clever manner in which they threw the ball about in the passing rushes being loudly applauded by the onlookers. Just when a victory for the Maoris seemed assured, University notched a try, which was converted, the bell ringing as the ball landed behind the? posts.
