The ! Girl: “ ’Ere, Mister Wiggins, parson’s sent yer this basin o’ soup, and hopes as ’ow you’ll be at church next Sunday.” Mr. Wiggins: “You can jist run and tell parson as soup’s all very well, but ’e don’t git me inside his church under a hunce o’ shag an’ a quartern o’ gin—see!”
