MISS TITTELL BRUNE.

Miss Tittell Brune, who was specially engaged by Mr. Lewis Waller to appear as Chorus in “ Henry V” in the Shakespearian Festival at His Majesty’s Theatre, was called for a dress rehearsal at the Lyric Theatre. She sent her French maid to prepare her room. On the maid’s arrival at the stage door, she asked to be shown to Miss Tittell Brune’s dressing room- “ There is no one here by that name,” is the answer she received. “Pardon, monsieur,” replied the maid, “my mistress is playing Chorus, and I have to dress her for the rehearsal.” “If it is the chorus lady you ask about, she dresses in the ‘ star’ room.” It only remains to imagine the indignation of the French maid at having her mistress taken for a chorus girl. Miss Tittell Brune happened to arrive at the time, and had a good laugh at the incident.
