WESTPORT JOCKEY CLUB'S AUTUMN MEETING.

FIRST DAY. The Westport Jockey Club’s autumn meeting was commenced on Thursday in fine weather and before a good attendance. The results were as follow:— FLYING HANDICAP, five furlongs.— Bridesmaid, 7.0, 1; Contingent, 8.3, 2: Blue Sky, 7.0, 3. At the conclusion of the Granity Trot Mr. Colvin, M.P., president of the club, presented Mr. Bryne, owner of King Try with the handsome silver cup won on Thursday, and presented by a well-known Nelson resident, Mr. F. N. Jones, who has been an officer of the club for nearly 30 years.
