CRICKET.

The sixth round of the Auckland Cricket Association’s district championship matches was concluded on Saturday in fine weather, when some excellent bowling performances were made by members of the various teams. For Eden, A. E. Relf and G. Mills gave a good bowling display, while Olliff and Fairburn for Parnell, and Howden (North Shore) and Mason (Grafton) all put up good averages. As was expected, the Eden eleven easily defeated the University team, the students, with the exception of Robinson, Taylor, and Jacobsen, making a feeble stand. North Shore secured a two-point win over the Graftonites, the latter showing an improvement on their play of the previous Saturday. In their second innings the students gave a better display, and succeeded in making 100 runs (Robinson 18, Taylor 23, Jacobsen 27, Fenwick 9, not out), Mills taking one wicket for 31 runs, Relf four for 14, and Robinson two for 22. University, first innings, 71 runs (Wilkes 19, Goulding 21). For North Shore, Me Neil took six wickets for 33 runs, and Andrews two for 9. University, second innings, 139 runs (Fisher 14, T. Goulding 35, Goulding 33, McLean 25, Jackson 9, not out). For North Shore, T. Mather took three wickets for 10 runs and McNeil six for 31. North Shore won by an innings and 67 runs —a three-point win. Grafton v. Parnell.- Grafton, first innings, 99 runs. Parnell, first innings, 221 runs (L. Breese 62, J. Sale 64, not out, W. Andreae 70, C. Resteaux 9, not out) for the loss of five wickets, at which figure the innings was declared closed. Grafton, second innings, 116 runs for six wickets (Howell 13, D. Jack 43, Tidswell 24, W. Harvey 9, D. Hill 11, not out). For Parnell R. Barnsdale took one wicket for 46 runs, E. J. Schofield four for 21, and W. Andreae one for 4. Parnell thus won by 113 runs on the first innings—a two-point win. Ponsonby v. Waitemata. —Ponsonby, first innings, 101 runs; second innings, 141 runs (Caradus 51, Nesbit 7, Jackson 20, McMath 27, not out). For Waitemata, in the second innings, Arblaster took five wickets for 45 runs, C. Moller one for 57, K. Moller one for 12, and Brown one for 15. Waitemata, first innings, 164 runs; second innings, 85 runs for two wickets (A. Riddell 19, K. Moller 23, J. Riddell 24, not out, F. Brown 12, not out), Nesbit taking one wicket for eight ruiiS and Walker one for 34. Waitemata won by eight wickets—a three-point win. Eden A v. Eden B.— Eden A, first innings, 221 runs. Eden B, first innings, 62 runs (Bridges 15, McLaughlin 10, Veale 12). For Edey A Alexander took eight wickets for 29 runs, and Stephens twQ. for 23. Eden B, second innings, 188 runs (Gray 16, Bridges 22, Buckley 17, Dixon .6, not but, McLaughlin 28, Rountree 10, Beale 41, Kyd 28) . For Eden A, Alexander took two wickets for 35 runs, Stephens one for 43, Freeman one for 20, Buckland one for 15, Taylor three for 17, and Mills two for 36. Eden A, second innings, 9 runs for three wickets, George taking two. wickets for 7 runs and Slater one for 1. Eden A won by 159 runs on the first innings—a twopoint win. THIRD GRADE. Ponsonby v Parnell.—Ponsonby, first innings, 48 (Gomber 10); second innings, 41 (Snedden 15, not out). For Parnell, in the second innings, Doble took two wickets for 10 runs, H. For Eden, Honeycombe took three wickets for 40 runs, Meredith two for 27, and Grindrod one for 7. Eden won by 49 runs—a threepoint win. FOURTH GRADE. Parnell v. Eden.— Parnell, first innings, 58 runs; second - innings, 63 runs, for six wickets (Barnes 18, R. Pountney 30), at which figure innings was declared closed. Eden, first innings, 31 runs; second innings, 67 (Foster 20, R. Burnett 16). For Parnell, in the second innings, J. Williams took three wickets for 23 runs, and Pountney six for 19. Parnell won by 23 runs—a three-point win. North Shore v. Ponsonby.—North Shore, first innings, 89 runs; second innings, 111 runs (Dacre 19, C. Kent 11, Jackman 23, L. Kent 28). Ponsonby, first innings, 55 runs (R. England 16, McKenzie 11). For North Shore in the first innings, Jackman took four wickets for 16 runs. Alison five for 19. Ponsonby, second innings, 50 runs (Hobbs 9), Jackman taking four wickets for 24 runs and Clist four for 19. North Shore won by 95 runs —a threepoint win.
