TE AROHA SPORTS MEETING.

The sports meeting organised by the Fire Brigade at Te Aroha took place on New Year’s Day in the presence of a large gathering of the public, and some capital sport was witnessed. Arrangements were efficiently carried out by the brigade captain, Mr. P. Pilkington, assisted by Messrs. Monk and Moloney, secretaries, while Messrs. T. Gavin and P. Donovan gave every satisfaction as judges. A good programme was carried out during the afternoon, and the racing was not without interest, in many cases the finishes being of an exciting character.
