HAWKE’S BAY JOCKEY CLUB’S MEETING.

FIRST DAY. The Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club’s summer meeting’ opened on .Saturday in glorious weather, and with an attendance larger than o.n the same day last year. The fields, however, were not big, and consequently the totalisator investments showed a decrease compared with the first day last year, when the total on the machine was ’£7831, as compared with £6515 to-day. There were eight bookmakers on the ground, each at a fee of £2O 10s. The results were:— MAIDEN HACK HANDICAP of 70sovs. Five furlongs and a-half. Hon. J. D. Time, lm. 29 3-ss. SECOND DAY. The second day -of the Hawke’s Bay Jockey’s Cliub’s summer meeting was well attended, the! weather being magnificent, though sultry. The sum of £6BBI was passed through the totalisator, as compared with £7250 for the second day last year. The total for the two days of the meeting was £13,396, a decrease of £1955 on last year’s receipts. There were seven bookmakers on -the ground, they paying £2O 10s each.
