TURF RESULTS.

WELLINGTON PONY MEETING. The Wellington Pony and Galloway Racing Club’s final Winter Meeting was held at Miramar on Saturday afternoon There was a fairly large attendance of the public, but the racing was not overinteresting, the winners in most cases having things all their own way. Details of the racing are as under:— JUNE HANDICAP of 20 sovs. Four furlongs and a-half. Second horse to receive 3 sovs. For ponies under 14.3 hands. —Mr. W. Wood’s Picotee, 8.8 (Willoughby) 1- Mr. W. W. Neri’s Emma. 9.2 (Oliver) 2; Mr. C. Carmont’s Heatherlea Lass, 10.7 (Carmont), 3. Also started: Franc 10.5, Inspiration 9.2, Huia 8.11. and Inkerman 8.8. Time, 60sec. Won somewhat easily by about three lengths; a close race for second place. Heatherlea Lass was third and Franc fourth. MAIDEN HANDICAP of 20 sovs. Four furlongs and a-half. For ponies and galloways 15 hands and under.—Mr. A. M. Guy’s Mermaid, 8.10 (Johnson), 1; Mr. H. May’s Little Paul, 8.1 (Oliver), 2; Mr. F. H. Day’s After Dark, 9.6 (Willoughby), 3. Also started: Stranded 8.10, Soprano 8.10, Sirrah 8.10. Amy Bock 8.5, Kotiri Mahl 812. 'Miss Douglas 8.0, and Vim 8.0. Time 59% sec. Little Paul and Sirrah were hot favourites, but the winner came away from the jump and won all the way in the simplest fashion. Miss Douglas went out on the course, but took no part in the race.

PRINCE OF WALES HANDICAP of 40 sovs.; second horse to receive 5 sovs. from the stake. For ponies and galloways 15 hands and under. Six furlongs. Mr. J. Driscoll’s Anglican, 9.7 (Willoughby) ... 1 Mr. F. Avant’s Sweet Lethe, 9.0 (Oli-

ver) 2 Mrs. Wilson’s Psyche, 8.10 (Cooper).... 3 Also started: Moata 11.11, Miretta 10.10, Billy 9.9, Firefly 8.6, and Miss Dean 8.2. Time, 1.20. (a record for the course). From the start Anglican and Miretta went out and the former then took the lead, and was never headed, stalling off a great challenge in .the straight by Sweet Lethe, and winning by Inches. YORK HANDICAP of 20 sovs. For ponies 14.2 and under. Four furlongs.— Miss Miller’s Dorina, 9.0 (Cooper), 1; Mr. F. H. Day’s After Dark, 8.1 (Oliver), 2; Miss Walker’s Huia, 9.8 (Herna). 3. Also started: Wee Nannie 8.13, Lady Dauphin 8.11, Trixie 8.9, and Mutiny 8.4. Time, 53%sec. Huia shot out from the raising of the barrier, but in a few strides Dorina was up and past the favourite. Dorina maintained her lead throughout, and won comfortably by about three lengths, After Dark making a late run in the straight and getting second honours. BIRTHDAY 'HANDICAP of 20 sovs.. for ponies 14.5 hands and under. Five furlongs and a-half.—Mr. A. M. Guy’s Mermaid, 8.0 (Johnson), 1; Mrs. Wilson’s Psyche 8.13 (Cooper), 2; Mr. P. Blake’s Aurifera, 12.4 (Mallowes). 3. Also started: (Miretta 10.6, Heatherlea Lass 10.6, and Firefly 8.6. Time, 1.15 2-5. Mermaid went out from the jump, and, leading all the way, won in the easiest of fashion by four lengths without an effort. VACATION HANDICAP of 25 sovs., for ponies and galloways 15 hands and under. Four furlongs and a-half. —Mr. F. Avant’s Sweet Lethe, 9.5 (Oliver), 1; Mr. W. Wood’s Picotee. 8.8 (Johnson), 2; Mr. J. Driscoll’s Anglican. 9.8 (Willoughby), 3.

Sweet Lethe shot out at the raising of the barrier, and held the lead all the way, winning comfortably by two lengths; about three lengths separated Psyche and Anglican. OAMABV TROTTING CLUB. The inaugural meeting of the Oamaru Trotting Club was held on Thursday in fine weather. The club had no totalisator permit, and 18 bookmakers were licensed. The results were:— TRIAL HANDICAP.
