TRAINING NOTES.

ELLERSLIE. TUESDAY. All the work was done on the sand track left-handed, the same as the Takapuna course. Scotty and Rimlock galloped a mile, finishing together in 1.51, while Dogger Bank, with Turbine for a mate, spurted four furlongs in 52 1-5. Blue Garment had a neck victory over his stable mate Coromandel over five furlongs in 1.8 4-5 from a standing, start. Ngapukg was slightly ahead of Maheno in a half-mile flutter in 52, and Censure took 545. to negotiate the same distance. After breakfast Norma galloped alone over half a mile, the last three furlongs taking 40 3-5. Madam Soult and another scampered over five furlongs in 1.8 1-5, and Aimwell, getting a break from Tarina, never left victory in doubt over a similar distance in 1.8 from a standing start. Advocate, Epsom Lass, and another did a solid six furlongs in this order, the first five furlongs taking 1.6 4-5. Zinnia was in front of Flying Soult at the end of five furlongs, run in 1.7 4-5., and Ldchbuhie, Bully and Escamilla finished in this order in a mile and aquarter bout in 2.17 3-5. The latter was beaten off. Necktie, alone, ran a circuit in 2.3; the little mare looks in great fettle. Luscombe was in front of Eblis over the same track in 2.7 3-5- Sweet Alice and Leo had a turn over the small sticks, the mare finishing in front. Swagsman, Te Kainui and Reservoir on the course proper galloped 10 furlongs over three hurdles and finished in this order in 2.21 2-5; the latter seemed distressed and the former none too sound. Tui Cakobau gave Irish half a length beating from the mile and a-half post on the course proper in company with Le Beau. The first round took 2.15 3- and the full distance occupied 3.19 4- Condition beat Le Beau. For a maiden hurdler to leave two veterans behind is a fair performance. Puke-

nui jumped the same hurdles in good style. Silent (alone) sprinted. Kremlin and Mania did a round in company, and Creusot, looking in the pink of condition, did two rounds at halfpace. First Gun and Cuiragno went two rounds nearly at top. Waihekau jumped the steeplechase jumps, and Newtown out-jumped and out-paced a mate over the small sticks- Potiki and Armagh were given a turn over the steeplechase (proper); the former led throughout. Octoroon, Quadroon, Explosive, Dardanus and others also worked.
