THE EX-CHAMPION.
Tommy Burns returned to Sydney on Wednesday, March 31st, and told ;> newspaper man that he had done excellent business, and had received splendid hospitality everywhere. JU saw the Unholz-Douglas fight, and lest for Brisbane next day to fulfil a week engagement at the Stadium there, and possibly one night in an adjacen. town. Tommy has arranged for a big show in Melbourne the night before Good Friday, which will be contributed to by first-class vocalists. The principal feature is to be a series of De" pictures—“ The Life of Christ”—just brought from America by Mr. Eddie Brusso —Tommy’s brotherAt present the ex-world’s champion
boxer is not quite clear as to his future in the way of business; but i.iis much his mind is made up over —after returning to Queensland and visiting the larger country towns, he purposes touring New Zealand and then setting down in Sydney. Tommy Burns’ brother, accompan.ed by Mrs. L. C. R. Keating (Mrs. Burns’ sister-in-law) and her children reached Brisbane by the last Vancouver mailboat, with the object of, in conjunction with her husband, entering into business there. It may interest readers to know that Tommy' Burns tips the beam at 14st 121 b, just l%lb less than 3st heavier than when he fought Johnson, and the man looks a very great deal the better for the fact.
Evidently there are moneyed Americans who think Australia a bettei country than their own to live in.
