Whilst disconnected replies in refutation of misstatements will do something to check and minimise the intolerable campaign of slander —and it is gratifying to note that the Council of the Institute of Brewing has already taken steps in this direction by the appointment of a strong committee —-it is obvious that falsehood and calumny will only be finally dispelled by a wide dissemination of truth and fact by eminent authorities whose judgment cannot be impeached. The time is ripe, the movement is afoot, and it behoves the 'brewers to lend every assistance and influence to an effort which seeks to preserve for beer its well-merited reputation.—- “ The Brewer’s Gazette.”
