ARNST’S INTENTIONS.

When questioned as to his prospects of races with Barry and Durnan. Dick Arnst, who was in Auckland during the week, said he would leave, with Fogwell for England after the Easter Monday race between Whelch and Fogwell. He expected to race Barry some time in September, and also to compete in some of the big handicap races in England next season. Durnan’s offer of £5OO a-side, and an allowance of £2OO expenses seemed very satisfactory, and he would like to arrange that match first, in order that he might travel to England via America. In the opinion of George Towns, he would have no difficulty in defeating Barry. Arnst spoke highly of the sportsmanlike qualities of the defeated champion Webb, and also desired to thank the Auckland people. for their hospitality to him.
