One world’s record and two indoor records were b”oken at the first meeting of the American A.U. championships held in New York. Patrick McDonald of the Irish-American A.C., set new figures (16ft o%in) for throwing the 561 b weight for height. Melvin Sheppard, the Olympic, champion, was beaten eight yards in the 1000yds run by Harry Gissing, the time (2.20) being a new indoor record. M. P. Driscoll, of the Mercury A.C. of Yonkers, won the two miles run in 9.28 2-5, a new indoor record.
