OTAMATEA RACING CLUB’S MEETING.
The Otamatea Racing Club’s annual meeting took place on Saturday In showery weather. The attendance was fair and the sport good. Thirteen bookmakers were in attendance, and they apnearod to be doing good business. Mr. Stewart acted as starter. The results were:— MAIDEN PLATE.—Luros 1, Carana 2, Moaki 3. , KAIPARA HANDICAP. — Highland Fling 1. Wairuhe 2, Lochlea 3.
OTAMATEA CUP.—Wellcast 1, Jolly Tar 2. Also started: Sweet Alice, Gipsy Queen, Mechanic. A splendid race; won by half a head. RADIUS HANDICAP—Irene 1, Alannah 2, Little Mystery 3. Also started: Carana, Belinda, National League. MAORI RACE.—Darkey 1, Candle 2, Puhipuhi 3. MATAKOHE WELTER.—Lochlea 1, Highland Fling 2, Midcyr 3. Also started: Gipsy Queen, Lochard. Won by hall a length. FLYING STAKES.—Sweet Alice 1, Jolly Tar 2. Also started: Whakatupoto, Luros, Manoeuvre, Mechanic Wellcast. Won by a length.
