LAWN TENNIS.
The programme for the Auckland Lawn Tennis Association’s championship and handicap tournament, to be held at Eden and Epsom tennis courts during the New Year holidays is as follows: —Men’s championship singles and doubles, ladies’ championship singles and doubles, combined championship doubles, men’s handicap singles (two grades), ladies’ handicap singles, men’s handicap doubles, ladies’ handicap doubles, combined handicap doubles. Six courts will be used. Play will begin at 9.30 a.m. each day. Entries for all events must reach the hon. secretary (Mr. A. Le Sieur), P.O. box 652, before five p.m. on Wednesday, December 16. The Match Committee is composed of Messrs. Hickson, Biss, Ohlsen, Palethorpe, and Wyatt. Mr. J. B. Howarth will act as referee.
The American player, Alexander, leaves Sydney with H. A. Parker on December 16. by way of Auckland, and will be a competitor at the New Zealand championships to be held in Nelson at Christmas. Parker and Alexander will play together in the doubles, as possibly will Wilding and Doust. The meeting of these pairs should be worth going a long way to see. Parker will play with Miss Pow-
drell in the combined, and Wilding and Miss Nunneiey possibly will fight out the final with them.
