NEXT SATURDAY’S BIG MATCH.

Great preparations are being made for the interprovincial match next Saturday between Auckland and Wellington when it may be expected that the latter will make most determined efforts to wrest away the shield from the Blue and Whites. The match is to be played at Victoria Park, and if the weather proves fine, should attract a very large attendance. Auckland will be represented by the team which has done so well in the past, and may be depended upon to make every effort to hold the shield. The Wellington players, who are due in Auckland to-morrow morning from New Plymouth, are a fine and fast lot and their supporters expect them to win. The team will be as follows: Goal: Sanders. Fullbacks: C. Hickson, T. Brewer. Halfbacks: Exley, Reid, Christie. Forwards: Smythe, Dixon, Thompson, Elliot, Willis.
