WELLINGTON BEAT CANTERBURY.

Wellington defeated Canterbury fairly easily on Saturday'by 11 points

to 5. The teams were as follows: — Wellington (black : Fullback, J. Ryan; three-quarters, Matheson, Mitchinson, Evenson; five-eighths, Magee, McLeod; half-back, Roberts; forwards, Avery (wing), Ready, Hamilton, “ Rangi ” Wilson, A. C. Wilson, Rush, McKellor, Shadbolt. Canterbury (red and black): Fullback, Doell; three-quarters, Fryer, Mason, Aitken; five-eighths, Weston, Fry; halfback, Burns; forwards, McPhail (wing), Thompson, Mahoney, Baker, Menzie, Ward, Webb, Evans. Magee got two unconverted tries and one from which Ryan added the major points for Wellington, while Baker scored a try for Canterbury, Weston converting.
