PUBLIC SCHOOLBOYS’ MATCH.
WAIHI DEFEATS AUCKLAND. The Auckland public schools representatives played a return match with the Goldfields schoolboys at Waihi on Saturday, being defeated after a rattling good game by 7 points to 3. For the Goldfields boys Johnston scored a try and McGeehan kicked a goal from the field, while for the losing team Handcock kicked a penalty goal. It will be remembered that in the first match, played as a “ curtain-raiser” to the Auckland-Britain game, the Auckland public schoolboys defeated the Goldfields lads by nine points to nil.
