THAMES JOCKEY CLUB.
Mr. A. Bruce presided at the annual meeting of the Thames Jockey Club last week. The election of the committee resulted in the return of Messrs. A. Bruce, G. E. Buckland, J. Connolly, J. T. Inglis, D. Stewart, D. Twohill, A. Burns, W. Taylor, J. Loughlin, E. J. Milnes, C. Winder, and J. S. Hope. The various officials were appointed as follows: —President, the Hon. James McGowan; vicepresident, Mr. A. Burns; chairman of committee, Mr. A. Bruce; treasurer, Mr. C. J. Winder; judge, Dr. Barclay; handicapper, Mr. R. Wynyard; starter, Mr. E. Hankin; clerk of scales, Mr W. Taylor; clerk of course,
Mr. A. Bateman; timekeeper, Mr. D. Twohill; stewards, Messrs. Bruce, Winder, Stewart, Loughlin, Buckland, and Twohill; special committee, Messrs. Bruce, Winder, Inglis, and Stewart. The annual report showed the club to be in a sound financial position, the sum of £5OO having been paid off the mortgage on the Parawai property during the year, together with an expenditure of £412 for improvements.
