AUCKLAND RACING CLUB METROPOLITAN COMMITTEE.
The Hon. E. Mitchelson presided at the usual monthly meeting of the Metropolitan Committee of the Auckland Racing Club, held on Wednesday. The disqualification on Arthur Langdon for riding at unregistered meetings at Hikutaia and Matakohe last season was removed and a license granted to him for the present season. The six pony races on the Auckland Trotting Club’s autumn programme were approved. In connection with the Whangarei meeting the report of the sub-com-mittee, embodying statements from horseowners and others, was laid before the meeting, and as an outcome the jockeys’ licenses of B. Deeley and J. Conquest were cancelled, and it was decided to send all the papers on to the Racing Conference. The Auckland Trotting Club’s report, with the sub-committee’s report attached, bearing- on the disqualifications recently imposed in connection with the Grandstand Handicap run at the summer meeting at Alexandra Park, was discussed, but as the time within which notice of appeal might be given had not elapsed, definite action was deferred. It was mentioned that two notices of appeal had been received.
