A NOVEL MATCH.
A somewhat novel match took place at King’s Lynn, England, recently, when F. Lawrence, a clever young Birmingham cueist, met ten of the best players. The amateurs received a start of 500 in 1,000 —one dropping out for each 100 compiled by Lawrence. As he topped the century three times, several had no chance of displaying their ability. Lawrence in the end, won by 159 points.
