“ THE MUMMY AND THE HUMMING 1 BIRD.” On Monday next Mr Herbert Flem■..ming’s new English Comedy •Company f will make a welcome appearance at His Majesty’s Theatre. The opening production will be Isaac Henderson’s foui;-act play with the curious title of “ The. Mummy and the Humming Bird.” This ran for 370 nights at Wyndhayl’s Theatre, London, and is..said to be. even better than “The Walls of Jericfib,” which is high praise indeed. The 'Mummy is a learned professor and the Humming Bird his young wife ' who, fancying herself neglected, all but comes to grief-at the hands of the villain of the piece; but is saved as it were, in the nick of time. The interest is maintained?; throughout and some very strong dramatic situations are evoked. “The Mummy and the. Humming Bird ” will be staged for five nights and the box.plan is now open. As showing the popularity of the play, it may be mentioned that it is now being presented in America by no less than five different companies.
