UNDESIRABLES.
Another instance of an undesirable customer came before Mr. R. W. Dyer, S.M., in the Police Court last week, when William Hogan, a young man, was charged with wilfully damaging three glasses, valued at 3/, the property of William John Baker. Sub-Inspector Gordon stated that on January 27 accused and another man went into the Newmarket Hotel and asked for liquor. The licensee (Mr. Baker) refused to serve, them and ordered them off the premises. They refused to go, and when a man, who was carrying a tray with glasses on it, was passing, Hogan kicked the tray, knocking it out of the man’s hands. Hogan, who had a number of previous convictions against him for various offences, was fined £3, and costs 12/, or in default one month’s imprisonment.
