TRAINING NOTES.
ELLERSLIE. February 5. The following work was got through by the Papakura candidates: —Lady Cressy spurted two furlongs in 26 3-ssec, and then cantered round and repeated the dose, knocking off 3-5 of a second. Kola Nip completed a circle on the sand in 2min 3-5 sec. Bonomiana had Master Delaval for a mate in a six j furkmg sprint on the tan, finishing together in lmin 17 3-ssec. Sweet Alice and Landlock, after their Takapuna racing, were content with moderate pace work. After breakfast Uhlander outpaced Nervine on the sand for six furlongs in lmin 21sec. Kaitangata did halfpace work on the tan. Duart, who failed miserably at Takapuna, sprinted four furlongs in 56sec, but could have improved the time. Dogger Bank, with a good hold, had Fabricator scratching at the end of half a mile in 52 3-ssec on the sand. Integrity, on the sand, did nine furlongs at an easy pace, and then spurted three-quarters of a mile in lmin 23 sec. Geordie got round the tan in 2min 3-ssec. Freemount will be an absentee, as his new owners have taken him to the Thames. Others to do easy-pace work were Luminous, Heywood, Omati, The Serf, Waitati, and Master Clements. The following should run well on their track work: —Cup: Uhlander, Lord Seaton, Geordie. Flying: Omati, Discoverer, Sweet Alice. Railway: Kola Nip, Bonomiana, Lochbuhie. Maiden: Dogger Bank, Lucio, Master Clements. Hack: Dogger Bank, Master Clements and Lady Cressy. As there are no acceptances to hand, there is a certain amount of guess work about picking the various events.
