THE AUCKLAND PARK JOCKEY CLUB’S MEETING.

Last Wednesday the second meeting of the Auckland Park Jockey Club took place in showery weather. Mr. J. Dickson acted as judge, and Mr. L. Brennan as starter, and there was a fair attendance of sportsmen. Mr. Pratt had all the arrangements properly fixed up, and everything passed off smoothly. Results went as follows:—

MAIDEN HACK of 15sovs, about four furlongs.—Mr. N. Glover’s b f Pansy Blossom, 4yrs, by Cyrenian—Pansy, 9.0 (Tate), 1; Mr. R. B. Moore’s Gilleadit, 9.3 (Taylor), 2; Mr. S. Smith’s Morale, 9.10 (Nearey), 3. Also started: Ophir 10.0, Fire Alarm 9.12, Novelette 9.6. Betting: 6 to 4 Pansy Blossom, 2 to 1 Fire Alarm. Won easily by three lengths. Time, Imin. PONY RACE of lOsovs, about five furlongs..—Mr. A. Johnson’s br g Waiwai, aged, by Soult—Leorina, 10.9 (Nearey), 1; Mr. N. Glover’s Pansy Blossom, 8.7 (Tate), 2; Mrs. Barrett’s Leona, 9.0 (Morrow), 3. The only starters. Betting: 2 to 1 on Pansy Blossom, 2 to 1 against Wai Wai. Waiwai led all the way and won by a length. Time, lmin 7 2-ssec.

AUCKLAND PARK JOCKEY CLUB HANDICAP -of 50sovs, second horse 10 sovs, about 7 furlongs.—Mr. A. Phillips’ ch g Misere, 3yrs, by Cyrenian— Pikau, 9.0 (Tate), 1; Mr. A. Redshaw’s Fire Alarm, 8.7 (Gunning), 2; Mr. T. Taylor’s Hurihuri, 10.0 (Taylor), 3. Also started: Tambourina 11.7. Betting: 2 to 1 on Tambourina, 3 to 1 Misere and Hurihuri. Tambourina made the running to the dip, where Misere took charge, and won by five lengths from Fire Alarm, wh'ich was a neck in front of Hurihuri, with Tambourina the same distance further back.. Time, lmin 35sec.

TRADESMAN’S HACK HANDICAP of lOsovs, about six furlongs.—Mr. R. B. Moore’s b m Gilleadit, syrs, by Gilead—Kit, 9.0 (Stewart), 1; Mr. N. Sharpe’s Countess, - 11.0 (Sharpe), 2; Mr. S. Smith’s Morale, 9.10 (Gunning), 3. Also started: Ophir 10.0, Newboy 9.10, Roskill Maid 8.7, Glenmore 8.7. Betting: 6 to 4 Countess, 2 to 1 Gilleadit. Countess led to the distance, where Gilleadit challenged, and won by a long neck. Time, lmin 22 sec. -

FLYING HANDICAP of 20sovs, about five furlongs.—Mr. T. Keini’s ch m Tambourina, aged, by Tambour—Linnet, 11.7 (Nearey), 1; Mr. A. Phillips’ Misere, 9.3 (including 71b penalty) (Tate), 2; Mr. T. Taylor’s Hurihuri, 10.0 (Taylor), 3. Also started: Nick Hunt 8.0. Betting: Even money Misere, 6 to 4 Tambourina. Tambourina led all the way and won by a length, with Hurihuri the same distance away, third. Time, lmin 8 3-ssec.
