GOOD NEWS.
The export of gold from New Zealand for the six months ending June 30 was 265,1280 z, of the value of £1,070,434, an increase of 14,5110 z, valued at £59,111, as compared with the corresponding period of lasfl year. The quantity of gold exported last month was 48,6400 z, valued at £195,556, as compared with 45,6200 z, of the value of £184,435 in June of last year. The export last month was made up as follows:—Dunedin, 19,6220 z, £79,325: Auckland, 16,3760 z, £65,944; Greymouth, 46740 z, £18712; Hokitika, 27840 z, £11,136; Invercargill, 20620 z. £8250; Nelson, 17500 z, £6998; Westport, 13680 z, £5191. The export of silver last month was 77,8770 z, of the value of £7BBl.
