SALE OF THOROUGHBRED YEARLINGS AT CAMBRIA PARK.

CAMBRIA AND GLENORA PARK STOCK. The unreserved sale of thoroughbred yearlings, the produce of the Cambria and Glenora larks, took place on Wednesday afternoon. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. (Mr H. 0. Nolan) conducted the sale. There was a fair attendance and bidding was brisk, especially for the brown colt by Soult —Rose and White, which was started at 500 guineas, and rapidly rose in 50’s and 20’s to the good price of 1,100 guineas, at which figure it was knocked down to Mr Archie Yuille. The competition was also keen for the brown colt by Soult —Hotcherina, being knocked down to Mr J. Thorpe, at 520 guineas. Another high-priced one was the beautiful black colt by Soult—Lady Emmeline, which found a purchaser in Mr Archie Yuille, at 450 guineas. Amongst those present we noticed Sir Robt. Lockart, Sir Geo. Clifford, Major Pitt, Hon. Carrol, Archie Yuille (Melbourne), A. Kidd, M.H.R., F. Lawry, M.H.R., Dr. Newman, Messrs M. McLean, Percival, Wynyard, M. Mills (Taranaki), Dunnett, R. Duder, J. Chadwick, D. McKinnon, J. Thorpe, B. Armitage, F. Earle, W. Handley, W. Adams, E. R. Macrae (Hawera), S. Bradley, J. Lennard, Cutts, J. Sewell (Oamaru), and D. The colt Hiro, by Cyrenian—Epine, raced at the A.R.C. meeting, was also offered, but fared to reach the reserve, and was withdrawn. -
