TROTTING.
THE AUCKLAND TROTTING CLUB’S SUMMER MEETING.
Next Wednesday the Auckland Trotting Club will make a commencement with their Summer Meeting. Th : s fixture is, of course, the premier one of the kind in the North Island, and a very great deal of interest attaches to it, because it provides an opportunity of seeing how our trotters shape aera’nst the visiting cracks. The meeting lasts over three days, and the programme is an excellent one. Next Wednesday the chief events will be the Auckland Trotting Cup of 200sovs, the Great Northern Trotting Handicap of 115sovs, and the Pony Cup of 115sovs. Excellent nominations have been rece ved for these, and there is certain to be some capital sport provided. The programme in full appears in another column, and from this it will .be seen that the acceptances for the trotting events on the first day close to-morrow evening at nine o’clock, while for the Pony Cup and Telegraph Handicap, the 26th "s the date. Owners should make a note of this.
